David Canary (Adam Chandler Sr., AMC)
— ABC

Ladies Of The Manor

On AMC, Krystal just joined a not-so-exclusive club: women who have been married to Adam. Here's a look at her predecessors in the role of Mrs. Chandler.

Althea Patterson: Adam was already old hat at the marriage game by the time he moved to Pine Valley in 1983. The first woman he swore to love, honor and cherish was the now-deceased Althea, with whom he adopted daughter Skye.

Adam and Erica Kane (Susan Lucci)
— ABC

Erica Kane: Adam took two strolls down the aisle with La Kane, in 1984 and 1991. The first time, Adam was so determined to make Erica his wife that he arranged for his competition, Mike Roy, to be sent to Tibet on assignment. Erica was so ticked off at Mike for leaving (and so unaware of Adam's role in his exit!) that she accepted Adam's proposal. The second time they wed, Adam had to resort to blackmail. You see, he'd sent twin Stuart in his stead to his divorce proceedings when his first union to Erica flopped, rendering Bianca, the baby she'd had during a subsequent marriage to Travis, illegitimate. To avoid the scandal that might result if word got out, Erica agreed to another stint as Adam's wife. This go-round also failed miserably.

Adam and Brooke English (Julia Barr)
— ABC

Brooke English: In 1987, Adam became captivated by Brooke, the feisty magazine editor who made him the happiest man in the world by taking him as her husband in a small ceremony conducted right in her office. But as much as Adam loved Brooke, he loved the idea of having a male heir even more — and Brooke couldn't produce one, having suffered premature ovarian failure. (Yeah, yeah, she gave birth to Jamie a few years later — we didn't write it!) When Adam impregnated Dixie, and Brooke found out about it, their marriage was over.

Adam and Dixie Cooney (Cady McClain)
— ABC

Dixie Cooney: Poor, deceived Dixie took Adam to be her lawfully wedded husband in 1989, shortly after giving birth to their son, Adam, Jr. Unfortunately for Dix, Adam was at the peak of his nefariousness and was plotting to have her committed in order to gain sole custody of the baby. And unfortunately for Adam, Dixie's truelove, Tad, was there to help save her day.
