Behind The Scenes
GL 2003 Fan Club LuncheonNumber Of Fans Present: More than 500
Actors In Attendance
Schedule Of Events:
After lunch, Jerry verDorn, the event's host, bounded on stage to an enthusiastic crowd. After introducing his co-star and co-host, Elizabeth Keifer, the two brought their fellow actors out to the stage, usually in groups of two. "We'll try not to have sex up here," Bradley Cole joked about his entrance with on-screen lover Beth Chamberlin. Ricky Paull Goldin praised the camaraderie of the show's cast. "We have the best extended family of any television show on the air in the United States or Europe," he declared. Kim Zimmer was due to make her introduction with Robert Newman. His absence made that impossible (it was revealed later that he was stuck in a Columbus Day parade), so Paul Anthony Stewart "played" the role of Newman and swaggered out on-stage -- with an unbuttoned shirt, natch -- on Zimmer's arm.
Later, during the Q&A session, a fan asked Stewart what he liked best about acting. "That it's not trigonometry or geometry or calculus or any of those horrible subjects that I failed so miserably," he replied. As for his favorite scene, "I really like being in comas. I am sure you know why -- they're no lines to learn and I still get paid."
Highlights? Troy Kurtis singing two of his own songs, verDorn continuing his annual tradition of administering the Springfield Oath to all attendees (It's super-secret, or else we'd print it!) and fans getting autographs from their favorites.
All and all, a good time was had. In fact, we can't wait until next October.
