GL has appointed Christopher Dunn, Lloyd "Lucky" Gold and Jill Lorie Hurst as head writers. The trio will join current Head Writer David Kreizman as part of two new writing teams. Dunn joined GL in 1999 and was Co-Head Writer from 2001– 2002. He has also written for GENERAL HOSPITAL and the defunct SANTA BARBARA and SUNSET BEACH. Gold, who joined GL in 2001, has written for ONE LIFE TO LIVE and the defunct ANOTHER WORLD. Hurst joined GL in 1994.

MAY 23

Reva takes charge of her love life this week on GL when she proposes to Jeffrey. "It comes out of the blue," says Bradley Cole (Jeffrey). But no need to buy any gifts quite yet. After taking a "vacation" from GUIDING LIGHT to job-hunt, insiders tell Weekly that Beth Ehlers (Harley) has landed a role on ALL MY CHILDREN. At press time for the issue of Weekly on sale this weekend, several sources reported she would be playing Liza Colby and start airing this summer in a love triangle with former GL spouse Ricky Paull Goldin (ex-Gus; now Jake) and Michael E. Knight (Tad). However, this week it appears AMC has another character in mind for Ehlers.

MAY 9
After weeks of contract negotiations and rumors that she might follow former GL love interest Ricky Paull Goldin to AMC, where he now plays Jake, Beth Ehlers has opted to take a month-long hiatus from the role of Harley. MAY 6
Daytime legend Beverlee McKinsey died from complications due to a kidney transplant on May 2. During her soap career, McKinsey starred on ANOTHER WORLD as poor farm woman Emma Frame in 1972 and haughty villainess Iris Carrington from 1972-80. She played the same character in the spin-off TEXAS from 1980-81, receiving star billing. The actress also starred on GUIDING LIGHT as the original Alexandra Spalding from 1984-92. GL's Tina Sloan (Lillian) recalls to Soap Opera Digest, "I just think of Beverlee in her long, pink gown at Beth and Phillip's wedding with her beautiful blonde hair, blue eyes and her wonderful life force. She was always so, even in her delivery, no matter what she said — she always said it with such intensity and charm. Beverlee was such a professional and had such presence. She was a brilliant actress, a wonderful mother and a good friend. Everyone who knew her will miss her dearly." For more on McKinsey, check out an upcoming Digest.

APRIL 25
Fans are abuzz over a Kim Zimmer (Reva, GL) post on her official message board. "I have no idea what this regime is doing!" vented the star. For more details, including why Reva will be off-canvas for a while, pick up the April 29 issue of Soap Opera Digest, which hits stands on Tuesday.

APRIL 15
Gil Rogers returns to GUIDING LIGHT on May 1 to make Reva a star-powered offer she can't refuse. His return has sparked buzz among fans who wonder if his return will be for a few episodes or for an extended run similar to recent runs from favorites David Andrew Macdonald (ex-Edmund) and Tom Pelphrey (ex-Jonathan). A GL rep told Weekly, "Gil is a recurring character who can come and go as the story dictates," and in a recent interview, GL head writer David Kreizman confirms, "Hawk will be around, and he'll definitely be part of [Reva's] story." MARCH 21
